Barre For Life Team
Rosanna Silva

Dr. Rosanna Silva

Owner / Barre Instructor

Hello! I’m Rosanna Silva, owner and creator of Barre for Life. After breast cancer surgery left me weak, I found barre and became stronger—physically and mentally. Barre for Life was born from that journey and has become a place for women to build strength, confidence, and community. As a physician and former dancer, I will help you optimize your form and perfect your alignment---so you get the safest, most efficient, and most effective barre workout. My goal is always to meet my clients where they are and help everyone "find their strong!"

Frequently Asked Questions

New here? We’ve got answers.

Everything you need to know before your first class from what to wear to what to expect (yes, the shake is normal!).

What is Barre Fitness?

Barre fitness blends elements of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and strength training into a low-impact, high-intensity workout. You'll use small, controlled movements to sculpt and strengthen your muscles no ballet background needed!

What makes Barre For Life different?

We are more than a workout. We're a wellness community! Our studio is Physician owned, and our exercises are science-backed. Plus, our classes are music driven and led by instructors who really care (and know your name!).

Who are your classes for?

Everyone! Our classes are modifiable for all fitness levels and ages, from beginners to lifelong movers. Most of our clients are women between 30–65, but we welcome teens to seniors and yes, men can join too!

What does a typical class look like?

Expect a full-body workout that flows through abs, arms, thighs, and glutes, set to energizing music. You’ll burn, shake, smile, and stretch all with safe alignment cues and plenty of encouragement. The shake means it’s working!

What should I wear or bring?

- Leggings or capris (no shorts)

- Sticky grip socks (available at the studio)

- Water bottle

- Optional: your own mat (or borrow ours!)

I’m new. How do I get started?

We’re so excited to welcome you!

- Book your class online (use code FREECLASS for a free first session!)

- Arrive 10 minutes early

- A team member will walk you through everything

- Bring the essentials and your best self. We’ll handle the rest

Why do you have wooden floors instead of carpet?

Wood floors offer better grip, ankle stability, and hygiene. No more slipping mid-lunge and no hidden germs from carpet fibers. It’s just one more way we prioritize your experience (and your health).

Can I take class if I’m pregnant?

Yes with your doctor’s approval. Let your instructor know you’re expecting so we can guide you with safe modifications. Many of our clients continue through pregnancy and return postpartum!

I saw someone shaking during class is that normal?

Totally. That’s called “finding your shake” and it means your muscles are working hard! It’s a sign of progress, strength, and change. You’ll learn to love it.
